MPR™ Pump Module

A different kind of pump, built for OEM integration

The MPR™ Pump Module turns CST's patented Multiphase Rotor™ technology into a standardised module for integration into OEM pumps. It operates beyond the conventional cavitation failure zone, combining self-priming, gas handling and flexible pressure and flow with fewer conventional failure points.

Patented. Working. Field-tested.

Performance

A plane, not a curve

Conventional centrifugal pumps operate along a defined performance curve. The MPR™ operates differently, delivering different combinations of pressure and flow across its operating range.

For OEMs, that creates the opportunity to develop pump products that give solution providers greater flexibility to design for different operating requirements.
Core capabilities

Built to keep working

Beyond cavitation damage
The MPR™ operates beyond the cavitation failure zone, so the destructive vapour collapse that erodes conventional pumps doesn't occur.

No inlet seals
No inlet seals to fail, removing the leading cause of pump failure and unplanned downtime.

Self-priming
Self-primes from up to approximately 9.5 metres under standard conditions, so it can sit above the water source rather than below it.

Gas handling
Keeps operating with gas in the supply liquid, in conditions that stall conventional pumps.

Flexible pressure and flow
Delivers different pressure and flow combinations across its operating range, so one module can meet varying demand.

Proven in the field

Seven weeks. No downtime.

An MPR-200 V1.0 prototype was installed as a direct in-line replacement for an existing centrifugal pump at Hoskin Family Farm in Karapiro, New Zealand. Over seven weeks it supplied two dwellings and auxiliary outlets under continuous on-demand operation.

The CST advantage

One module. Multiple possibilities.

Differentiate your product
Pumping capability built on patented technology no competitor can replicate, not incremental changes to conventional centrifugal design.

A stronger TCO story                                                                                                       No inlet seals to service and no cavitation erosion mean less maintenance, less downtime and longer service life, building greater lifetime value for end customers.

Sustainability
The module matches demand rather than throttling or oversizing, and one unit can replace several, reducing equipment, footprint and wasted power. This supports OEM ESG and regulatory positioning.

Commercial advantage                                                                                         A defensible, differentiated capability early partners can take to market ahead of competitors.

OEM integration

Your product. A different pumping capability.

The MPR™ is a standardised module OEMs integrate into their own pump products and systems, building on established motor and control technologies rather than developing a new architecture from scratch.

The module is pictured between the green plates.
Applications

Built for demanding pumping environments

The same fluid dynamics principles behind CST’s pump technology have potential applications beyond pumping.

Future technology areas include:
Water-based cooling
Using water as a refrigerant in closed-loop cooling systems.
Energy recovery
Using superheated water to support turbine-based energy recovery.
Low-cost distillation
Applying state-change principles to purification and clean water production.
