What happens when you start with a different question?
CST began with two engineers from outside the pump industry, looking at a familiar problem from a very different perspective.
Instead of asking how to avoid cavitation, they asked what might happen if you could harness it.
Sixteen years of experimentation and engineering later, that question is patented technology, and a new way to think about how the world pumps, cools and purifies.


Two engineers, no blinkers, and a siphon that wouldn't behave.
Instead of ignoring the anomaly, he followed the physics, exploring what water actually does when it changes state.
For the next sixteen years, Roy and Alan built their own tools, tested their own ideas and ventured into operating environments conventional equipment couldn't reach.
Eventually they found what they were looking for: stable ground on the far side of the cavitation barrier, where water changes state in a controlled, repeatable, and useful way.
They called it the Stable Vapour Cavity™. And they patented the technology that makes it possible.

From invention to commercialisation
So CST brought in Martin Riegel to lead that transition – carrying the breakthrough out of the workshop and into commercial application.
Today, CST is commercialising the MPR™ Pump Module through pump OEMs, while continuing to develop the underlying technology behind cooling, heating and purification.

The mechanical engineer with 37 years' experience and a background in aviation, which is why he thinks about fluids differently than pump engineers do. Alan works at the intersection of physics, design and what survives in the field, turning our concepts into products.
